IOGDJ's music moves between familiar Australian characters and places that only exist in the imagination. A pub full of mates, a backyard obsession, a space-western adventure, a relationship running out of words: each becomes a different way into a song.
There's humour here, but there's heart too. A track can be cheeky, strange or made for a packed dance floor and still have something real at its centre.
Rather than settling into one genre, IOGDJ follows the story. The catalogue stretches from hip-hop and blues to dance-pop and experimental electronic music, with character connecting the different sounds.
